CUE TV is a digital channel for and by young people in Greater Manchester, UK, connecting learning and culture.
LEARN – REVIEW – CREATE
Young people learn creative and critical enquiry skills though digital media and journalist training in their school. They apply this in visits brokered by CUE TV to arts and cultural organisations in Greater Manchester who can offer opportunities and permissions to review, interview, photograph and film at events and activities. They respond to their trip by creating, writing and editing their own work and presenting it online.
CUE TV is currently being piloted and aims to develop as a source of information about arts and cultural activities for young people and a platform for origination and collaboration. It hopes to also become destination for schools and arts organisations working together to spark learning and access to arts opportunities for young people.
CUE TV is developed by The Centre for Urban Education (CUE) and the first project was piloted from May – July 2011 with Manchester Communication Academy pupils aged 12 years and Manchester Art Gallery.
